Ohio University Comes To A Calming Educated Place To An Outburst Attack

On November 28, 9:50 A.M, (18-year-old) Abdul Razak Artan, woke up in the morning and posted on Facebook that he was on twitter on how he has reached his "breaking point" and referred to "lone wolf attacks" from deceased Anwar al-Awlaki. He also posted, "America! Stop interfering with other countries, especially Muslim Ummah [community]. We are not weak. We are not weak, remember that,". Two hours later he said, "Forgive and forget. Love." That morning Abdul went to his school, Ohio State, and while in his car he ran over a a group people, said got out of the car, stabbed people who ran past by with a butcher knife he also bought that morning leaving 11 people inured in total.

After his actions at the university, six people were hit by the car and five had gotten stabbed. Then the police surrounded him and wanted him to put his weapons down. By Officer Alan Horujko (28 years old), Artan was killed after not listening to instructions on stopping. And putting the knife down. The university remained on lock down for an hour so students could be taken to a safe place for who didn't have time enough to go into a room to hide in.

Ohio policemen said it was too early to know what made up his mind to do this . But what they do know is that he actions couldn't have been an accident. According to The New York Times Article, it states, "Chief Craig Stone of the Ohio State University police said, "This was done on purpose," "To go over the curb and strike pedestrians and then get out and start striking with the knife--- that was on purpose."

Investigators has not found any evidence on if Artan's actions were connected to race beliefs from himself or a group. Also, they hadn't found any thing that could've shown if a terrorist group could be taken for responsibility of his actions while they put the information online for the public. Both the car-ramming and knife attacks were identified as signs of aggression from the Islamic State.

Things like this often happen almost every year. An attacker in Nice, France, used a delivery truck to hit dozens on citizens in July. Also in Würzburg, Germany a man and his Islamic state handler said that he was told to use a car to attack people just like what happened in Nice. The man didn't drive due to not having a driving permit, which drew him to attacking people with an axe.

''Tis the season... for gifts!

The best gift I can recall that I have gotten for Christmas is a electric razor scooter. It's A scooter made by razor that goes by itself while on it. I liked it because I was tired of my regular razor scooter that I had because it wasn't fun anymore and it was worn out. I used the electric scooter all the time throughout the summer and spring until one time during a year I had lost the charger and that's when I couldn't use it anymore. This year, I don't know really what I want for Christmas but what I am focusing on is getting a Camera because since I want to be a photographer when I'm older. I want to be ready for when I go to Columbia College of Chicago by having a  a portfolio of pictures all during high school and middle school to show what can full fill my future.  In the past I haven't really given presents to anybody due to being broke all the time, but this year I'm planning on giving my sister I  found at JCPenney's. The  The bracelet shows a symbol of what is being a sister like and it also has another chain for what it's like to have a sister. I have this idea from the same bracelet I got from my mother on my birthday except it was a daughter bracelet and it was just like this is the one. The brand of the bracelet has all types of things like that but I don't remember what the brand is. I have never given my sister a Christmas present before because I never really thought I would need to give her one. But, throughout these years, I feel terrible for not giving her one gift and I feel like this will make up for it and develop a stronger sibling relationship between us. I believe my sister would be surprised and grateful at the same time because how Ive reacted to family problems throughout the years, she probably would have never thought of me thinking of someone else before myself. I think this act of kindness will generate my family's opinion on me because I think that they probably believe that I'm selfish which I would understand but I'm tired of them thinking that way and I really want to change it because it's caused  and causing so many problems.  I also think that doing this wouldn't make me feel so mortified of my actions through the family after I think of what I have done. This is totally a lesson for everyone tpfow who has problems like me or people who know others have problems like me so maybe others can act like this and also develop a better future.

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

The book that I read was called, "Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda", by Becky Allbertalli. This book was about a boy named Simon who is a junior in high school. Throughout this year, he has figured out that he is gay and finds a interesting profile that caught his eye on Tumblr. The profilers name on Tumblr was Blue and Simon's was Jacques. Throughout the summer and the begginning of the school year they emailed eachother every week about their problems and themselves, not even knowing who that other person is. But one day, Simon used a library computer to send Blue an email. Simon was very nervous for he didnt want anyone knowing what they have been talking about and that he was gay. But on the way there one of his classmates, Martin Addison follows him and sees the email.  Once Simon was done sending the message he hurried out the library not even noticing he didnt sign out of his account. Martin goes up to the computer and screen shots every email Blue and Simon had ever sent each other and the confessions on how Blue and Simon is gay. The next day, Martin and Simon meet and Martin plans on blackmailing Simon just so he can help him date Simon's best friend Abby. I like this book because, it really talks about realistic problems that occur in a teenage life. Basically, this book is realistic fiction because if you were to think about a situation like this it would most likely happen in this way just because how I see the teenage life has turned out to be in certain individuals. I recommend this book to people who like to read realistic fiction or likewise situations to the teenage life because it really connects and makes the ready think how it would feel to be or know someone in that position, to understand problems for people like Simon.

Story Behind My Name

The story behind my name. I always wonder more about my name. What it means, why my parents chose it, does it even seem like a name I should be called. I think about my name so much probably because I'm just not used to it just yet. My name, Kailah, means who is like god. In my culture/religion, no one could be like god. But to me, others can be a way god expects us to be.  I love my name because I like how it isn't really a name used. Often if people do have my name it's spelled like "Kayla". My name is total different. I also love it because it sounds beautiful, unique, and unoriginal all at the same time. My parents named me Kailah because they ugh it was a pretty name. I guy at my Mom's job has a daughter that is Kayla and when my mom was looking for names she liked it even though the mans daughter was a little rambunctious. My parents also picked it because they named my sister Kenedy and they wanted my name to start with a "K" like hers. They didn't like the other K names except for Kayla and spelled it differently.

Favorite Quote

My favorite quote I've heard is, " We  bring the rain down on our enemies, not the scattered  quote is from Paper Towns and I like it because to me and in experience when I get back someone it's never softer with less force. I believe that if someone hurts you physically or mentally you can get back at them in either a good way or bad way but hit them harder. Someone should never be the person to take something out of ignorance and receive because if you do all that person is going to do is repeatedly do it back until you break. The original quote was not put here because it has a inappropriate word.

What I'm Grateful For

This year, what Im grateful for is my family and friends sticking with me through hardest times and giving me support when I needed it. Throughtout this year, I have met people, lost people, been to places, and has had family problems. But I've made successfully with the people who I love caring for me, comforting me, and giving me vauluabe advice without judgement. Even now, they have still been around which I am happy for since I can give back to them. I'm glad these people still stick eith me today because to me, I don't really like change. Things changing in my perspective can cause confusion and maybe different emotion actions that can cause people to drift away. People sticking together as a family have better healthy because they are surrounded by happiness. This is how I want to feel everyday and this is how I've been feeling for the past 13 years. I'd be happy and very grateful to keep it that way.

3 Year-old Boy Shot and Killed Himself in North Suburban Waukegan

On Thursday, October 13th, 2016 at around 3 o'clock a.m, Jerome Banks, a 3 year old boy, was found in his home on the ground dead from a single gun shot wound to the head. Jerome woke early in the morning to go his parents bedroom. In the room he saw his fathers 9mm Semi O-Automatic Diamondback gun on the dresser and picked it up. He apparently walked into the living room while his parents were sleep and got shot some way due to the gun not being on the safety lock.  The neighbors to his family heard the gun shot and immediately called 911 to their house, 1100 Greenfield.

Jerome was taken to the Vista East Medical Center where he was announced dead. The police took the parents to the station and asked them questions on how maybe did the situation occur, and why was there a gun in the house somewhere not safe. Charges were not pressed on the parents due them being respectful and following directions. But the police did find another gun in the Banks residence. Why wasn't the gun that belonged to Mr.Banks in a more secure place unreachable for children? How was the infant able to or accidentally get shot and die by a single bullet? What woke up the infant 3 am in the morning? Why did the Banks residence have a gun in the house, in the first place?

Best Day Ever

The best day I ever had so far in my life is when my parents got married on September 13th, 2016.   The reason why its the best day I ever had so far because ever since I realized what was marriage when I was youner, I had always wanted my parents to get married because I loved their relationship and I grew impatient after they had told me at that they had been engaged/dating for over 20 years. I also liked that day because that was the week I hadn't spoken or seen my uncle after 6 years. I hadn't seen him in that time period because at first he had moved to Washington and then Georgia. During, that time he had a new baby named Joshua but he is currently 8 years old. When I met them at the wedding, I was so happy because I hadn't seen my best friend in a long time and Id be a new big cousin again. At the wedding, the colors were chocolate, champagne, and cream. I cried so much during that day being so happy for my parents that they were able to stay in love for a long time and manage to not let anyone come in their way. The reception was also beautiful and fun because we danced a lot and the food was delicious. Im sure that sooner or later another best day ever will come my way, but so far another day hasn't beaten that day.

"The Outsiders" Reflection

In the book, "The Outsiders", Ponyboy Curtis is a significant character in The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton because, he is in the book a lot (Being the main character) and is the most interesting character out of all of the Greasers because he is different from them emotionally and physically. He's a dreamer and very smart. Ponyboy has light-brown,with almost red greased up hair and greenish-gray eyes but now has bleached, slicked back hair. Ponyboy Curtis belongs to a lower-class  group in Oklahoma who call themselves “greasers” because of their greasy long hair. Walking home from a movie, Ponyboy's attacked by a group of Socs, the greasers rivals, who are upper-class youths from the West Side of town. The Socs, short for Socials, gang up on Ponyboy and threaten to slot his throat. A group of greasers comes and chases the bullies away, saving Ponyboy. Ponyboy's rescuers include his brother Sodapop, a charming, handsome high-school dropout, and Darry, Ponyboy’s oldest brother. The rest of the greasers who come to Ponyboy’s rescue are Johnny, a sensitive sixteen-year-old, Dally, a hardened street hood with a long criminal record, Steve, Sodapop’s best friend, and Two-Bit, the oldest and funniest group member. Ponyboy talks slang sometimes, like how everyone spoke with ease, but still talks proper English. He says, “ain't,” a lot. What motivates Ponyboy is to be able to see the sunsets almost everyday and be able to complete his present to future goals. What Ponyboy says often about other characters, who are Darry, Sodapop, Dally, and two-Bi, is that, “Dally reminds me of one of the gallant Southern  gentlemen from the civil war.” “Sodapop, Darry, and Two-Bit remind me more of heroes than Dally does.” When Ponyboy physically prefers that if he was to fight somebody in a rumble, it will be in self-defense since he is more modern and less wild than his friends/brothers, “The Greasers”. Ponyboy enjoys going to the movies and watching action and he's also gentle but tries to be brave as good as he can. In the book, Ponyboy believes that Darry thinks that he lacks common sense even though he is really smart at school compared to the rest of the greasers. But sometimes he doesn't think when making choices or doing actions. Doing this, sometimes, he could get in trouble and face problems he could normally avoid. The reason why Darry expects so much from Ponyboy is because he doesn't want his brother to turn out to be a dropout like Sodapop is. He believes that with his goals and smarts, he can be totally different from the others and actually have a future to look forward to. At the middle to the end of the book, Ponyboy changes because he struggles in his mind and he tries to pressure himself into thinking that he killed Bob, "The Socs,". The struggle Ponyboy deals with in reality is that, he tries to hind from the police along with Johnnycake. What I like most about Ponyboy Curtis is that he has so many people to go to even though he is a little bit more positivly better than his friends/brothers. I also like that how Ponyboy cares about his family and the gang so much that he'd do anything to make things right or to clear up a situation.

A poem I think that really describes Ponyboy's background and story from in the book is, "What Are You Afraid Of" by Jon Jorgenson. I think this poem describes his background and story of his life because it talks/asks what are you afraid of throughout time when you realize you have so many supporters, hope, and overcomed adversities throughout life. Basically saying what room does fear have when you have all what you need to fix a problem in your life. In the book he Ponyboy used to be afraid about getting into trouble with the Socs, and having problems from two of his friends death because of a previous mureder which caused them in the end. But I think when Ponyboy realizes just of who he is, who he is around, and what he has been through at such a young age he can use to help him over come adversities throughout his life.

Thinking About My Blogging

Blogging for me can be a challenge sometimes, and when i mean challenging I mean that depending on what I wait about, I have trouble actually figuring out what I'm going to say. Sometimes I worry to much in thinking that what I just said doesn't make since at all, or doesn't even match up to the assigned topic. Other times it's really easy because either I really like the topic or I already have an what I'm going to write. Blogging can be fun in many different ways. It can be fun by posting something you might enjoy and want to talk about, being ale to comment and pages and posts you want the write to recognize. When I blogged about how I want my future to be in 10 years, I liked how I already believe I can make this happen for my future but I also understand that some things I want to happen in the future are just dreams. Blogging can also help with reality depending on the topic. Like if you were going through a situation where you are having problems with family, you can find a post on how to deal with the problem and it my help. Blogging can be a. Good resource in your own way of thinking.

My Best Trip Ever

I don't have the greatest trip in my life because I haven't completed life yet, I'm not done. But so far the best trip I have been on is going camping in Lake Gineva, Wisconsin over the summer last year and this year. Last year it was my first time camping ever. It was a little scary because it would be with total strangers for the beginning, sharing a cabin, and being around nature I'm not used to. But the camp I went to was called Holiday Home Camp. I was put into the second to least year of being there and the last group to be there for the summer. During that week, I befriended so many people from all over the Midwest of America and even out the country. In fact, those people I meet was around all the time in that one week that they eventually felt like family I've known for years. Meaning that when it was the last day I cried my eyes out because I didn't have any idea that If i was going to see the people who were part my of family again. We did so many things like swimming in the lake, camp-fire outing, nature walks, archery, etc. All the things you can think of doing at a camp is what we did. This year I went again and it was my last year since I was in the oldest cabin. They had some of the same people I've seen last year and some new faces I befriended and made apart of my family just like in the past. They had the same activities except for photography which I obviously joined because I'm in love with taking pictures. This year I cried even harder since it was my last year, but I can always sign up to become a junior counselor next year which I will be doing. I loved this trip so much that I might recommend become a senior counselor for the summer when I'm older. This trip had been so exciting for me and I'm so excited to do again soon. This was my favorite trip I've ever taken so far in my life.

Summer Reading Book blog post: Paper Towns By:John Green

Blog 1: Introduction

The book that I reading this call, "Paper Towns", by John Green. Paper Towns is about a boy, Quintin "Q" Jacobsen spending time with a mysterious girl, Margo Roth Speiglemen, since he moved to the same neighborhood as her, Jefferson Park, when they were both 9.  Growing up, Margo would  ask you to go with her to do adventures together and he would except. Now they're both 17 about to graduate. They both go on the last adventure together, prancing and so much more. To the people that call themselves Margo's friends and reveal their secrets.
But Q didn't know that at the very night, it would be the last time having fun and seeing her. The next morning he finds out that Marco is missing. He tries to find her by using the clues she left behind for him and only him to understand. As to find her, the more he finds the true side of her he never knew.

Blog 2: Focus, Analyze, and Explain How Do they feel?

On page 26 Chapter 2 is says, " So like I said, I need a car. Also I need you to drive it, because I have to do 11 things tonight, and at least five of them involve a getaway man."  When I let my Psion focus, she became nothing but eyes, floating in the ether. And then I looked  back on her, and I could see the outline of her face, the paint still wet against her skin. Her cheekbones triangulating into her chin, her pitch – black lips barely turn to a smile. "Any felonies?" I asked. "Hmm," Said Margo "Remind me if breaking and entering is a felony." "No," I answered firmly. "No it's not a felony or no you won't help?" "No I won't help. Can't you enlist some of your underlings to drive you around?"  Lacy and/or Becca were always doing her bidding. "They're apart of the problem, actually," Margo said. "What's the problem?" I asked  "There are eleven problems," she said somewhat impatiently. "No felonies" I said "Iswear to God you will not be asked to commit a felony." This detail is important because it shows how Q acts. he is very cautious of certain things like this because he I very different from other people in Jefferson Park. He doesn't like putting  his future at risk if there is something that can. He also thinks that no matter what, he has to be the grown up in his world.

Focus in Blog 2: Conflict: Are they internal or external?

Clinton is usually an internal because since his only basic known friends are Ben and Rader (Marcus), they do a lot of things together. Q isn't very social, but still is social around his friends, but not to other people. On Page 91-92' it states, "He didn't interrupt me once – – Ben was a good friend in the not – interrupting way me once-- but when I finished, he immediately asked me the most pressing question in his mind. "Wait, so about Jason Worthington, how small are we talking?" "Shrinkage may have played a role, since he was under significant anxiety, but have you ever seen a pencil?" I asked him, and been nodded. "Well, have you ever seen a pencil eraser?" He nodded again. "Well, have you ever seen the little shavings of rubber left on the paper after you erase something?" More nodding. "I'd say three shavings long and one shaving wick." I said. Ben ad taken a lot of crap from guys like Jason Worthington and Chuck Parson, so I figured he was entitled to enjoy ita little. But he didn't even laugh.  He was just shaking his head slowly, awestruck. "God, she is such badass." "I know." "She's the kind of person who either dies tragically at twenty-seven, like Jim Hendrix and Janis Joplin, or else graus up to win, like, the first-ever Nobel Prize for Awesome." "Yeah," I said. I rarely tried of talking about Margo Roth Spiegleman but I was rarely this tired. I leaned back against the cracked vinyl heardest and fell immediately asleep. When I woke up  a Wendy's hamburger was sitting in my lap with a note. 'Had to go to class, bro. See you after band'"

Focus in Blog 3: Theme

The theme of the story is that people change all the time. You shouldn't judge on how person is be in the past. That is the theme because all throughout the book Q would've been thinking of how Margo was when she was little because that's how he would think she is now. On page 173, it states, "Who is Margo Roth Spiegleman?" Like a metaphor rendered incomprehensible by its ubiquity, there was room in what she had left me for endless imaginings, for an infinite set of Marrgo's." On page 284-285 it states," She's screaming back, louder than I thought possible. "You're not even pissed at me, Q! You're pissed at this idea of me you keep inside your brain from when we were little."

My Future in 10 Years

In 10 Years...

In 10 years, I see myself in Columbia College in Chicago, so I can make photography apart of my life. I also see my own family being there  and supporting throughout my decisions and similar things in life. In the future, I want my career to life to be full of photography because I believe that when you take photos of something you truly love or  desire, you should save and capture the moment all pictures that are taken, tells their own stories in different perspectives.
The goals I want to accomplish I have that I want to be able to graduate from Columbia College in Chicago. I also want to be able to become a photographer, and have a relationship. As me being in middle school I want to have good grades for the rest of my school days so I can make my future brighter. After college, I want to live in the U.K or Australia just because I think it's amazing. It could start a new chapter  in my life. I think having a pet husky would be good too because I love them and I never had a pet for. The way how I accomplish my future goals are by going to an art school and college so I will be prepared for my career.
I will also search for a relationship with someone so I won't have to be the rest of my life, instead, spend it with the person I love, so they can support me and except me through life. Using my career money would also help me move overseas so I can explore more, support my job, and get a dog. This is what I want to do, in 10 years.

I Believe Speech

In my ELA class we are doing I Believe speeches. The speeches are supposed to be about what do we believe in and why based off of our person...
